The Hyer Dad’s Club is working to support restaurants and provide meals to the front-line workers at our hospitals and fire/police stations. We are purchasing meals from local restaurants and delivering them to the front lines, feeding those working to protect our city from the Covid-19 crisis. Revenue is down 70-80% at many restaurants, and many have had to furlough much of their staff. Anything we can do to get restaurants through this shelter-in-place period will help preserve the character of our community for when we are allowed re-engage with local businesses.
The Hyer Dad’s Club is purchasing lunches and dinners all next week for the workers at Parkland Hospital from restaurants that have long supported Hyer including Mimi’s Pizza, Slim Chickens, Flying Fish, New York Subs, Unleavened, and Chip’s, among others. The Dad’s Club is contributing some of its excess funds that won’t be spent this year and is working with an anonymous anchor donor that has agreed to match contributions dollar for dollar up to $2,500 to get the program going next week.
We welcome any contribution large or small! $50 can buy dinner for a nurses station. $100 can get lunch for a group of acute care doctors. Any amount helps!
All of the funds are collected by the Park Cities Dads Club, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization, and contributions are tax deductible as allowed by law.
